THE LORD is beautiful
like the gates in which a beggar sits 
receiving more than what his mouth requests 
when looking to the eyes of one who had seen the King
he’s carried in but leaping out
he follows close, a rich man now 
“THE LORD is beautiful” the song he sings

like the river of my dreams
whose wavy path embraces land
and now baptized, it’s lush and green
THE LORD is beautiful for what HE sees and what HE ignores –
a child of GOD, his former course –

Soldier’s Prayer (track 12)
– Revelation 3:18 –

If I rise, circling thoughts, barrel eye, cure my heart
If I sleep, cover me with all the things that fools refuse to keep
In the afternoon, if afterthoughts are born,
like the silence kills the consequence of words, and I can’t sleep
Remind me of the metal I forgot
A child but still a soldier in a war

If I rise, trailing thoughts, rusty seams, steel my heart
If I sleep, stand between me and the swords that live to trouble dreams
In the afternoon perimeters I walk,
protect my eyes, the view is quite a world, and all I see

Let HE who made the world forever acknowledge you, His own
And cover all that you endeavor with favor from His throne
And make us secure, my Father GOD, in the world
That we may be sure of His grace and we be sure of His power

For HE knows the sheep of His pasture
